Online PCO Filing

~Filing Week~
Mark your calendar: May 14 - May 18
Every current or prospective PCO who wishes to serve for the 2019-2020 term needs to formally file for that position during filing week, which ends on Friday, May 18th at 4:00pm. By far the fastest and easiest way to do that is through the King County Office of Elections website.
Here's the step-by-step process:
Step Two: Select "I am a Candidate"

Step Three: Select "I want to run for office"
Step Four: Select "Online PCO Filing" (This page also has additional helpful information including the PCO Manual)
Step Five: Until filing week opens, you will be directed to this page which includes a helpful video on how to file online and other frequently asked questions. Watching this video and reviewing the information in advance will help you prepare for what to expect filing filing week.

Frequently asked questions:

Q- When can I file online?

A- May 14, 2018, at 9 a.m. and ending on May 18, 2018, at 4 p.m.

Q- If I file during filing week, when do I take office?

A- The new term starts in December 2018 and will run through the 2020 Election cycle.

Q- If I don't want to, or am not able to file online, what are my other options?

A- You have a few options if filing online is not for you. You can print off the paper version of the form and bring it down to the Office of Election office downtown, you can mail your form to the Office of Elections, or you can scan it and email it to [email protected] and I can send it to the Office of Elections on your behalf. ***Important Note***- All paper forms, no matter how they are filed must be signed in order to be valid.

Q- Is there a cost or fee to file?

A- NO! Filing as a PCO is absolutely free.

Q- I am a current PCO, will I be getting a reminder during filing week to re-file?

A- Yes! We have already started reminding current PCOs that filing week is coming up. Current PCOs will be getting multiple reminders during filing week so don't worry, we won't let you forget!

Q- Ok, I've filed for election/re-election, now what do I do?

A- Please let us know! We will be carefully tracking to make sure we have as many precincts covered as possible before the presidential election cycle. You can send a quick e-mail to [email protected] or call/text Anna at 206-201-1714. This will also ensure that members of the PCO committee aren't calling you for the remainder of the week!

If you have any other questions or if any issues arise during filing week, please don't hesitate to reach out to Anna Borris at 206-201-1714 or [email protected]. We are there to support you and make sure this process is as easy and transparent as possible.
