Due to the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and following the recommendations of Public Health Seattle-King County we have decided to cancel the in-person version of our Wednesday, March 18th general meeting.
This decision comes after much consideration and weighing of the options, in consultation with your executive board. We determined the only prudent course of action, and made the call to cancel our monthly district meeting scheduled for March 18, and replace it with an on-line presentation/conference for that evening which our executive board is currently hard at work to put together, and for which you will be receiving more information this weekend.
While we are disappointed to lose this important opportunity to gather and continue our momentum for Blue Wave 2020, we believe that canceling the meeting is necessary to protect the health and safety of both our members and the community at large.
I encourage everyone to read and follow the Public Health Seattle-King County recommendations in order to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community and reduce the number of people infected.
We have chosen to have an online meeting/program in order to share the information on our upcoming activities and how to run for national delegate. We may also have some interesting surprises in the program!
Please watch for additional information in the coming days. In the mean time, if you have any questions about the caucus or running for delegate they can likely be answered at www.waelectioncenter.com. If you have any further questions, please reply to this email and we will get back to you soon.
Our board is currently in discussions about what we will do for future meetings, if COVID-19 containment measures prevent us from gathering in groups past March. If you would like to join those conversations, please let us know and we will put you in touch with those doing that work.
We still need volunteers to help plan and run our 46th Legislative District Caucus on April 26th. Please mark the date on your calendar and let us know if you are available to help out!
Our next scheduled meeting is Wednesday, April 15th. Pending further recommendations from public health authorities, I look forward to seeing you all there!
Thank you for your GOTV efforts!
Thank you to everyone who helped with our GOTV postcard and canvassing campaign this past month! We got 5500 postcards with personal notes into the hands of strong Democratic and new voters all over the district, many in vacant precincts with hard to reach voters!
Make a Note to Vote:
Also, don't forget that tomorrow, Tuesday, March 10, is the last day you can submit your ballot for the Presidential Primary. Make your voice heard!
While you can mail your ballot on Tuesday, if you do, make sure that the last pickup of the day has not been completed at that mailbox or post office. All ballots mailed to the election office must have a March 10 or earlier postmark to be counted.
Ballot drop boxes are open until 8pm tomorrow! Found all over King County, including in the 46th LD, may be found here: King County Elections Drop Boxes
Just 1 day left until Primary Day!
Best to you all, and stay healthy,
Julie Anne Kempf
Chair
